This is the most unusual and most famous hood scoop in the car world - the Iso Grifo hood scoop created for the Corvette 427 cid engine.
When Iso decided they wanted to put the Corvette 427 cid engine in the Grifo which had an engine bay designed for the 327 cid they had to add some extra space in the vertical direction. The result was this hood scoop above. The car was branded the 7 Liter and later the 454 engine version was branded the Can Am.
When Iso stared using the Ford engine they need a little more room so the scoop is a little higher as you can see in the three pictures below.
