Craig Breedlove was a hero to me when I was a young boy. He was the first man to drive faster than 400 MPH, 500 MPH and 600 MPH. He even has a cool name.
Others feel the same way as I do because he is to receive the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum “Spirit of Competition” Award on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011.
Craig Breedlove is accustomed to accolades; he was inducted in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 1993 and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2000.
The Beach Boys also recorded a song about him, "Spirit of America". It doesn't get much better than that.
