The Maserati Ghibli was introduced in 1967 and was produced until 1972. It is powered by a V8 330 hp engine with a 5 speed manual or 3 speed automatic transmission. Styling was by Giorgetto Giugiaro, when he was with Ghia.
Maserati produced approximately 1300 examples, including the beautiful Spider version, making the Ghibli a success for Maserati.
This great looking yellow car was parked next to me at a car show last year.
This 1967 silver example below is for sale in Chicago by Willow Automotive Services for $95,000. The car has 59,326 miles and the seller claims it was once owned by Henri Mancini.
The 1969 blue car below, located in Santa Barbara, California, is listed on Anamera for $125,000 and has only 42,500 miles. It is an award winning show car.
This 1973 yellow car below is to be auctioned at RM Auctions in Arizona on January 21, 2011 without reserve. This is the SS version with slightly more power at 335 hp and factory air conditioning.
There are several Ghibli's available now and the prices are much lower than a Ferrari Daytona or Lamborghini Miura. They are also less expensive than an Iso Grifo. It is very tempting.
