Knowing what you know about Bizzarrini's do you think with say $140k in restoration work, and the purchase of price of $360k, that this car could be worth more than $500k?
$360,000 is not out of line for this car. I just received the latest Hagerty Price Guide. A 1967 Bizzarrini GT 5300 is listed from $390,000 for condition 4 to $565,000 for condition 1. However, this car is not a condition 4 car, it is in worse shape than condition 4. The sellers are expecting much more than $360K as well. Sometimes the price guides get behind what is really going on in the market. Also, it is difficult to predict what value collectors put on originality. The seller claims this car has original paint. The interior looks like it could be original in the not so good pictures.
A condition 2-3 car is for sale at RM in London in a few days with an estimate of $552K-$631K. I saw this car in Monterey in 2009.
A green Bizzarrini was sold by RM in Italy recently for $571K. So, Bizzarrini values are moving up.
If this car were correctly restored it would be worth more than $600K.
I have written about all of the cars mentioned here - search Bizzarrini on My Car Quest.
