Monterey Car Week - Thursday

Today we planned to go to the Tour d'Elegance where many of the Pebble Beach cars drive into downtown Carmel and park on Ocean Avenue for 2-3 hours. This is the first year that we could not find a parking place so we went to Monterey and previewed the RM and Russo & Steele auction cars.

The Triumph TR6 at Russo & Steele is similar to the first car that I bought.

The best Ferraris were inside at RM.

You may have seen this Porsche 911 before in the movie Le Mans. Steve McQueen owned this car and drove it in the movie.

We then went to the location of Concorso Italiano and parked the Bizzarrini and Iso Rivolta on the golf course to be ready for the event tomorrow. We will drive the Iso Grifo onto the field on Friday morning.

Monterey Car Week - Wednesday

We arrived in Monterey on Wednesday afternoon driving the Iso Grifo. Here are some pictures from downtown Monterey near the Marriott where the Russo & Steele auction will be held.

Below are a few classic cars that arrived on Wednesday that will be for sale later in the week.

1937 Mercedes-Benz 230 A Cabriolet.

1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible.

1967 Chevrolet Corvette "Pickett Race Car".

Monterey Car Week Is Almost Here - Part 3

Monterey Car Week is now only a few days away. In this video I take the Iso Grifo out for a drive.

My wife and I will be driving the Grifo to Monterey and will be at Concorso Italiano, stop by the Iso Bizzarrini area if you go to Concorso Italiano. Or, if you see us drive by wave or honk.

This video is from the Palos Verdes Councours d'Elegance in 2009. It will get you in the mood for Monterey Car Week which is very near.

The Gregorian Chants have a religious overtone but this goes well with these Italian cars that some of us seem to worship.

Monterey Car Week Is Almost Here - Part 1

In this first video my newly bought Iso Rivolta GT is being delivered last summer. I have decided that this car was a barn find on eBay.

The person that I bought it from drove it 1,200 miles in 10 years!



You can see how dusty it is when it comes off of the transporter from Maryland to California. It spent the next 6 months in various shops having everything mechanical reviewed and fixed if needed.

In part two, notice the date of the two videos, the car goes for a test drive. It now runs like a new car. It will be in Monterey at Concorso Italiano, stop by and see it, if you are in Monterey.

Turn up the volume and put on the headphones for the videos.
