Ferrari 250 MM - 1953 - A Pleasant Surprise

by Mike -

One of the things I love about cars shows is coming across a car that is rare and maybe I have never seen before.

That is what we have here; a 1953 Ferrari 250 MM. The MM stands for Mille Miglia, the famous 1000 mile Italian road race.

This model did not win this race but its predecessor did win in 1952.

The beautiful body style is by Pinin Farina.

There were only 13 250 MM examples made in 1952 and 1953. That explains why I have never seen one before in person.

This beauty was at the Sonoma Marin Concours d'Elegance on May 15, 2011.

  1. My very good friend Ron Kellogg owned a 250MM for a time and says that it was almost like driving a modern Ferrari--a truly wonderful car. Stunning in blue!

  3. Stephen,

I am surprised that you have time to read My Car Quest from Cannes!

This Ferrari was stunning. I also think the owner drove the car to the event because we had a little wet weather and the car had the signs of being driven in wet conditions. While this is a race car this one is in show car condition.

Good luck with your new film!
