Getting In And Out Of The Bizzarrini GT

The top of the roof of the Bizzarrini GT 5300 is 43 inches from the ground and I am 73 inches tall. This can present a challenge getting in and getting out.


The door sills are a few inches wide and they are a few inches higher than the seats because the door sills on both sides are gas tanks. The steering wheel sits low and is not adjustable, naturally. The ability to move my right leg under the steering wheel is the key. 

The good news is that I have a technique that works and once I am in the car the driving position is comfortable.


The passenger has an easier time of it because there is no steering wheel in the way but the door sills are still an obstacle. The oval shaped panels on the door sills in the picture above and below are for access to the gas tanks.


There are times that I have had difficulty getting out like in this video below.
